8 C Water
2 1/4 C Sugar
1 Squeeze Honey ( or about 2tbl)
9 Luzianne iced tea bags ( this makes a 2 gallon batch of tea)
** we tie our tea bags together to make it easier
1/4 tsp baking soda ( sprinkled on the bottom of the tea container)

Put 8 cups of water in a medium sauce pan on high. Once water comes to a rolling boil add sugar and stir with a wooden spoon til mostly dissolved. Add in the squeeze of honey and stir again til completely incorporated. Turn burner off and place tea bags in water, gently push them into the sugar water mixture with wooden spoon leaving the tags of the bags outside the pan, place a lid on top and let the bags steep in the water for 15 minutes.

In a 2 gallon or bigger container container that can hold hot and cold contents, sprinkle baking soda on bottom of dish then place soaked tea bags in container and squeeze out the hot tea in them with wooden spoon (see picture below). While pouring hot tea from sauce pan into the container, have cold water from faucet going in at the same time to fill container. ( if possible, if you are not preparing tea as we did in sink, you can add cold water on top of the hot tea.) Once you have poured out all tea into container, fill sauce pan with water to make sure any tea or sugar residue comes off with it and pour that sauce pan full of water into container. ( James does this at least twice with his pan). When the container is at the 2 gallon mark, stop filling and stir again with wooden spoon. Place container in fridge for it to last longer or you can set it out on the counter like real southern sweet tea. (leaving it out on the counter, it may only last 3 - 4 days)

We have some neighbors from Texas who are extremely picky about their sweet tea and they gave James the thumbs up with his tea! I hope you enjoy!
